Paris is the cosmopolitan capital of France and - with 2.2 million people living in zone 1 (Central Paris) and another 9.9 million people in the suburbs (la banlieue) - is one of the largest cities in Europe. Located in the north of the country on the river Seine, Paris has the reputation of being the most beautiful and romantic of all cities, brimming with historical associations and remaining vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design. Dubbed the City of Light, it is the most popular tourist destination in the world. Paris is a city to spend time in, walking, sit in a park or cafe watching life go by and soaking it all in.

When standing under the arc, the straight Champs Élysées looks really amazing and the Arc de Triomphe in the distance is alligned perfectly. 312 days, 8 hours ago
I've just booked two nights to stay at the Hotel Odeon in St Germain. http://www.odeonhotel.fr/ It's well priced, in a great location and looks cool. Has been highly recommended by many people and I selected it after 3 hours of research. 247 days, 22 hours ago

For getting around easily, use the great Vélib community bicycle service. The daily fee is EUR 1 and using bicycles for up to 30 minutes is free after that. When using the bikes for longer, the prices increase every 30 minutes, so this is clearly intended for short-time use. Suggested use pattern: Grab a bike, drive to the next spot you want to visit, drop the bike. There shouldn't be a problem to find a station, as they are located within 300m distance from each other. Just try to avoid the stations at the main sights, chances are really bad there is a free place to return a bike at the Eiffel tower, for example. Two streets further, the situation usually looks better already. 152 days, 9 hours ago

Paris is one the must-see places with it's multiple world famous sights and attractions. However, we spent a great new year's eve there without seeing much of the sights. Instead the party at the university made the day. :-) 153 days, 6 hours ago

Lots of things to see. Hotel & restaurants can be pretty expensive at least if you plan on staying close to the center. one year, 41 days ago
This majestic Gothic cathedral is a mystic must-see experience in the middle of Paris, on an island in river Seine. It's Grandes Orgues are one of the best of its kind in the whole world, so do not miss a concert every Sunday on 4:30 pm. 124 days, 5 hours ago

Come early in the morning, otherwise you'll spend most of the day queing. 312 days, 8 hours ago
Use the Metro to get around. It is fast, cheap and you don't have to worry about parking. 152 days, 23 hours ago

La Villa hotel is a small, modern hotel located on the Left Bank of Paris. It was designed by a student of Philip Stark has has a cool Jetsons-looking jazz bar downstairs. But the rooms themselves are tiny and downright sterile and gloomy feeling You don't get any of the passion of Paris. The only good thing is the hotel is located in a perfect spot at 29 Rue Jacob. Literally across the street is where Colette wrote; next door is where Ingres painted; the Seine, Louvre and Notre Dame are only two blocks away. But there are plenty of other boutique hotels in this area of Saint Germain de Pres that give you more of the Paris ambiance. 310 days, 9 hours ago

The right bank: Arc de Triomphe, the world famous arch commissioned by Napoleon + the tree/shop-lined Champs-Elysées ,and at the end of that avenue is Place de la Concorde ,where the well-travelled 3,300-year-old Egyptian obelisk oversees the city's chaotic traffic.
