There isn't that much snow in Finland anymore, but if you go to Ylläs on winter time, you can be sure that there will be snow. This year you could ski even in the end of April. Well, in the last week of April it pretty much started to melt :) But when the snow melts, the nature looks kind of cool as you can see from the pictures!

tilkkuliini from Finland wrote about Taivassalo one year, one month ago

The archipelago of Taivassalo can be breath-taking especially in summer time. The roads go here and there like in the middle of the sea. Imagine a warm and sunny summer day (yes, sometimes there are those in Finland!) and you're chillin on the beach and the waves wet your feet... Well, maybe it can happen if you rent your own cottage :D But anyhow, the views are relaxing.

We were on a short trip here last September. Weather wasn't so nice, but as you may see, when you go to Åland, the weather can be sunny and warm but after few minutes it's raining like h...! That's Åland. Anyhow, it was a an autumn day and there were no other people, except us. The see was calm and you could here your own heart beating. Suddenly a choir started to sing in the Post museum. The atmosphere was unbelievable. One of those experiences you can't buy with money. Defenately a place worth visiting.

Never been IN the Post museum though.. :)

There is just something about Old Rauma. When you are walking along the streets and alleys, you can imagine the people running around there hundred years ago, ladies wearing big dresses and man wearing fine clothes. If you can get a guide for your trip, she or he will probably tell crazy stories from old days. At least our guide did :) Just be careful so he won't join you to your lunch, because yes, our did..

And those are interested in architecture, there are absolutely beautiful houses in Old Rauma.

If you are a geocacher there is a cache near the Turku Airport parking place. The cache is easy to find even in dark, but it's good to have some light with you. The box is big enough for travelbugs and geocoins.

Now days there are quite a lot of flights from Turku Airport, especially the cheap airlines are flying abroad.

The view from the top is great, if the weather is clear. It's quite suprising to see a view like that in the middle of.. well nothing.

The cache is quite easy to find. Be careful especially with kids because there is usually some broken glass on the ground.

If you are not a geocachers, that doesn't matter. View is still beautiful :D

tilkkuliini from Finland wrote about The Mountain of Pärkä one year, 2 months ago

If you are a geocacher, you can find a good hidden cache here. We didn't find the cache at first try, but I didn't mind coming back again. The gps signal is quite poor in the forest so it makes the searching a bit more difficult. But when you find the box you'll be really happy. One of the best hides I have seen.

Be careful if it has rained because the rocks might be slippery. Especially if you go to look the climbing place.

If you happen to be a geocacher, there is a cache near the Airport. It's called Helsinki International Airport HEL hotel. From the cachesite you can find a big box, where you can leave your travelbugs and geocoins or take some with you when you'r going abroad. If you are not a geocahers you are probably thinking what the h.... :D Then i suggest you to visit geocaching websites.

Why I'm tipping this in the Airport? If you had no time on your trip to visit the shops in Dublin city, this is your last chance :D Also I found the best offers from the airports shop.

Affordable and peaceful place. It costs about 19 euros to sleep in a double room. If you want to party in Porvoo, this might not be the best place to over night, but if you want to just sleep well, this is the right choise. I didn't hear any noices in the night.

The easiest way to contact them and book a room is sending e-mail to porvoohostel@co.inet.fi

If you happened to take a tent with you, this is the place for you. It costs only about 6 euros per night. You can also rent a cabin, but I have never slept in those, so don't know about them. The only minus in this place is that sometimes there are security guards who make sure that people don't make noice after midnight. But then you can always move to the citys' bars to party :D

There is an "eternal glacier" in Stryn. It means that on the mountain the ground is always on ice. Because of the greenhouse effect it may not be for ever, but still. It's especially interesting to go there in the middle of summer, wearing shorts and bikinis, while walking on ice!

Great and steep rock formation where you can imagine many cave-like cavities. The name of the area comes from the early 18th century when a man called Jeremiah was hiding there during the restless times.

There is a parking place near the road. Be careful if it has rained, because the rocks might be slippery.
