Chinese food on Temple Street is great. Try "steam boat buffet", a big bowl of spicy broth where you cook your choice of meat and veggies. Great:)

Pelabuhanratu has a nice beach, great surf but local atmosphere. Make sure to visit the hotsprings. The drive takes no less than 5hrs from Jakarta, no matter what they tell you.
