That's a good point! But I think that the meaning is to remain us, what is important and what should be taken into account, every day! But, maybe it could be appropriate, if there is Earth Day for example every month and different events all over the world.

Having events on Earth Day only contributes in the burden of already stressed environment and ecosystem. Only if Zero Impact means the audience will be cycling and producing the energy consumed by the concert will it be acceptable.
And even then, there are also different kinds of pollution - also noise should be counted as such. An example would be how US Navy Sonars are doing harm to whales causing strandings.

What is this nonsense? Are the 364 other days in the year just Could Care Less Days? :O Would it be better, if we had only one "Destroy Earth" day per year and the rest of the time were spent acting somewhat smarter?

I have been as an exchange student in Unites States and we celebrated Earth Day with our host family. For them it was almost like a tradition and I think it could be also noticed everywhere on Earth, because everybody get a huge benefit.

You got a point there! I haven’t ever taken part in those celebrations, but now that I think about it, I’d definitely like to travel for example to Philippines and help to clean the river.

I have never understood that you could really contribute in that sort of a level! I mean.. that’s awesome! I could just go and buy a tree or two and plant them at the backyard of my very own house. Wicked!

I truly agree with psalmi about the fact that pollution is a vast collection of things that we do every day. We don't necessarily understand it. But still.. The key is to emphasise the meaning of Earth Day and find the things that one can do for it, not against it. Therefore making people aware of this type of event by various actions is in my opinion worth it.
