What is San Juan?

San Juan is the capital of, and at two million the largest city, in Puerto Rico. It has one of the best harbors in the Caribbean. The city will celebrate its 5th Century in 2008 or 2021, depending if they count from the founding of Caparra or the act of moving the Caparra settlement to Puerto Rico isle (Old San Juan)

What People Are Saying

Stefan

Stefan from Amsterdam, Netherlands loves to see the hotels and prices on a map

I love to see the available hotels on the map. I move and zoom the map a lot. It's so easy to filter out the hotels that are too far from my preferred location. I also like seeing the hotel prices at a glance on the map markers.

This hotel booking tool has saved me both a lot of time and money.

Anna

Anna from St. Petersburg, Russia thinks the budget tools and prices are great

Thanks for a cool new way of booking hotels! On our family trips, we are used to filter the hotels based on our budget. Now we can quickly see the hotels that offer the best deals and that are conveniently located close by the most interesting sights.

The prices on TripSay are always great.

Juan

Juan from Barcelona, Spain recommends this site to travelers who know what they want

I found a hotel quickly using the advanced filters. Booking the hotel was easy and straight-forward.

I require a wi-fi, non-smoking room and location near the airport or main railway station. Finally it's easy to find a hotel that suits me. I recommend this tool to other travelers as well.

Enjoy spectacular ocean views no matter where you sit, but for a truly unforgettable experience, be sure to reserve a table on the beach. Lunch is served from 11AM to 3PM, tapas and appetizers from 3PM to 6PM, and dinner from 6PM. No matter what meal you choose, Pamela’s Caribbean Cuisine will be one of the highlights of your stay in San Juan.

You can get a free bus to and from Condado and Isla Verde starting from this station! Actually, all the buses are obviously free in San Juan...

San Juan seems like a nice city. Only spent half a day here. Lots of history, shopping opportunities, rum and great weather.

tonni

tonni from Finland wrote about Restaurant Tantra

Really nice asian food with a puerto rican twist. One of the best dinners on our 3 weeks trip in NYC, Puerto Rico and BVI.

juha

This was one of the stops on our Caribbean cruise. A very nice city with interesting (war) history and fortresses. Makes you think how those guys survived the heat in old army uniforms... See the two fortresses. That's the best thing here. And buy some local rum.

juha

juha from Finland wrote about Fort San Felipe del Morro

Make sure to visit also the other fortress although this one is bigger and better. It was about 100 degrees Fahrenheit and 95% humidity while I was here. Makes you wonder how the soldiers in the old times could live here with the thick uniforms.

juha

juha from Finland wrote about Casa Don Q

Don Q is one of the Puerto Rican rum brands. In this museum/shop/bar you'll get to see how rum is made, you get to taste it for free (they make pretty good drinks) and get to buy it too. Convenient and educational!

merixi from Finland wrote about San Juan

Marvelous city for fun and easy living. Some imperial ruins still left from Spanish time. If you visit countryside you will encounter beautiful caves and beaches as well as great people.

tonni

tonni from Finland wrote about Da House

Da House looks very sleek with all the artwork, but the noise from the bar just below is just a bit too much. Ok if you are the one staying out all the way to 6am.

juha from Finland wrote about Fort San Cristobal

A fort built by the Spanish. Lots of interesting stuff here too although the other fort just a kilometer away is bigger and perhaps a bit better.
