I love to see the available hotels on the map. I move and zoom the map a lot. It's so easy to filter out the hotels that are too far from my preferred location. I also like seeing the hotel prices at a glance on the map markers.

Absolutely worth the drive! This is a really nice relaxed small town. Park your car somewhere, go to the beach for couple of hours, get some fresh seafood from a restaurant and enjoy. The scenery is beautiful and the place is not packed with people like some other parts of Crete are. Drive here can take quite a while because the road goes over the mountains and is quite narrow and winding from time to time. However the views are stunning.

The best beach I' ve been on Crete so far. Gorgeous tropical like white sand and a beach which is truly something extraordinary. Access only by boat, or by car till one spot on top of the nearby mountain and then on foot down the mountain for a 2 hours walk under the sun.

Platanias is a typical village on Crethe. You must climb to the top of the hill to the village to see the narrow streets and a nice scenery over Platanias. Dinner on the hill at moonlight is an experience. There is also a cemetary, which is interesting to explore.
