Beautiful ski resort with spectacular views, although I wouldn't recommend this to a nervous skier not comfortable with heights, open spaces, gorges etc because there is plenty of exposure there, and fences are used sparingly in places that feel quite dangerous. This place has the best infrastructure (lifts, mountain trains etc) of any ski resorts to where I've been to. 124 days, 18 hours ago

Better not go to this hill during January as you'll freeze your face off after taking the lift to the top. It's windy and with temperatory well below -20C it'll be a bit inconvenient! one year, 54 days ago

Levi is famous for its after-ski athmosphere at Hullu Poro restaurant. Just remember not to climb on the restaurant's tables as they _will_ collapse. ;-) one year, 54 days ago

I spent the winter season of 07/08 living in Alpe D'Huez. It has the the longest black run in Europe and apparently the world! It's a massively fun place and for us boarders pretty goddam amazing. The best off piste ever and some mental parks to play in.
It's also one of the main stages of Le Tour De France and with it's 21 hairpin bends to the top.
So that's summer for cycling and winter for boarding! 4 days, 15 hours ago
psalmi replied: Seems like a fun enough place to spend your winter in, thanks. It seems like I have many winter's vacations planned already as this goes to the top of my must visit list. :) Any other places you would recommend for enthusiastic snowboarders? 4 days ago

When taking the cable cars up to the skiing area it is definitely worth taking either fimbabahn or pardatschgratbahn as the main cable connection, silvrettabahn is usually very crowded during mornings. 210 days, 2 hours ago

When the weather is bad in France side of Mont Blanc it just might be perfect day to go trough tunnel to Italy and Courtmayer, and get cabin up to 3300m and Mer de Glace. Better hire a guide if you're not pro. 52 days, 15 hours ago
One of the best places I have visited. I lived there 1991-1992. Very rural place. If you want some heavenly skiing, you'll find it at Turner Mountain:

A ski resort during winter time. An excellent combination of Laplandish nature and almost Alps-like slopes! 361 days, 2 hours ago

Our route to Courmayeur went through Aosta and we stopped by to check the town as a potential place to stay when visiting Cervinia. The old town, piazza and pedestrian areas were pictoresque but overall the town was a bit shabby and under construction. 202 days, 21 hours ago
More like two hills than a mountain, Iso-Syöte is said to be the southernmost hill area in Finland. Two ski centers and a holiday village. 125 days, 17 hours ago
Amazing party and adventure town nestled in the Swiss Alps. Easy to rent bikes, hike, or participate in some of the world's craziest activities such as canyon swings, sky diving, or orbing. 60 days, 18 hours ago

Really cute ski town! Stop by Zuppa for a great cup of soup and a mini loaf of bread. 59 days, 8 hours ago

One of the best ski resorts in Scandinavia in terms of slopes, they also have a nice spa in the valley. After ski is pretty good too. one year, 75 days ago
The best skiing place in Europe, in my limited experience. Meribel is part of Les Trois Vallees so there are lots of slopes for beginners and experts. And of course in France maintenance is good. 11 days ago
psalmi replied: Thanks for the tip. I took the liberty of adding it to Snowboarding group, so hope you don't mind! 10 days, 2 hours ago

The hotel is located some 3 kilometers from Courmayeur centre and the cabin lift. They have a free minibus from the hotel to downtown. Otherwise just another accommodation, but they have a small gym and sauna, which is definitely a big plus! :-) 202 days, 21 hours ago

Absolutely fabulous, short drive from SF to some really cool skiing. The elevation is high, so the snow is good and it usually snows during the night. You should use some pretty strong sun screen, I got burned under my nose for the first time in my life. one year, 53 days ago

Parsenn (and Davos area in general) is mainly for skiiers although there were a few snowboarders. The overall feeling of the place was that here come the elder skiiers to enjoy peace and quiet. There certainly wasn't much after ski action! 103 days, 23 hours ago

Innsbrück railwaystation (Hauptbahnhof) is a great place to check out when you need to get to surrounding villages. Both local and Intercity trains stop here frequently and you can save a lots of euros if you travel to your desired destination by train and bus instead of expensive taxis.
Remember to enjoy the scenery while traveling through Austrias countryside! 4 days, 17 hours ago

Alhtough it is stated to be the largest airport in the Tyrol area it is still pitifully small. Be sure to eat before going through the security check since in the departure area there is only world smallest bar/cafe and one tax free shop for shoppings.
When landing into Innsbrück international airport queues can also be long as there are only three belts for luggage. Luckily skis are automativally taken outside the terminal so they don't clutter belt any further. 191 days, 3 hours ago
