London is the capital and largest city of both the United Kingdom and of England, and the largest city in western Europe. Situated on the River Thames in South-East England, Greater London has an official population of roughly 7.5 million people—although the figure of over 14 million for the city's total metropolitan area more accurately reflects London's size and importance. London is historically one of the great "world cities" and remains a global capital of politics, culture, fashion, trade and finance. More info | Close

Brussels (French: Bruxelles, Dutch: Brussel; ) is the capital city of Belgium. As headquarters of many European institutions Brussels might also be considered something of a capital for the European Union. The fact, moreover, that Brussels acts as political capital of NATO (the North Atlantic Treaty Organization) serves to give the city a Transatlantic twist. Lying at the crossroads of cultures (the Germanic in the north and the Romantic in the South) and playing an important role in Europe Brussels fits the definition of the archetypal "melting pot", but nonetheless retains its own unique character. Population of the Brussels metropolitan area is just over 2 million. More info | Close

Did you know that the broadest road is in Buenos Aires, Argentina? The road is called Avenida 9 De Julio and it comes from Argentina's independence day, which is the 9th of July.
You really have to be careful when crossing this road since it actually contains 4 roads that have at least 4 lanes each. It's fortunate that the crossing has traffic lights for pedestrians too, because not nearly all big roads have that, yikes!!

Have you guys been in a M&M store before? Well now you've got a chance to do so, because there's one in New York! It's really amusing for both grown ups and children. There's all kind of products from candy (of course), shirts, mugs to key chains. In its own way, it's a sight of a kind I think, so go and check it out if you're in NY (16 West 8th Street)!! Here's also a picture of the M&M guy in the store. Look at the size by the way :)

When driving your car in Finland (Suomussalmi), you can see a work of art called "Silent People" suddenly standing in a field. Everyone has to imagine themselves, what is the meaning of these people...but it is said, that if somebody divests their clothes, there are just thousands of cruciforms! Soooo crazy!

Another crazy thing came to me.. While visiting Japan I saw numerous replicas of servings outside in the windows of restaurants. It felt weird, but then again.. Especially being a foreigner, its a huge benefit, because not nearly all Japanese speak English. So go to these restaurants with replicas and you'll know what you're ordering! You can just point them out from the window :D

When visiting Belgium a year ago I went to this restaurant called Leon in Brussels. I wanted to eat a refreshing salad because it was a really hot day and it felt inconvenient to eat something like a stake for example.. So, I ordered a bacon salad. I thought that it would give me enough strength for the remaining day but wouldn't be too heavy to eat. But when I got the "salad" in front of me.. Uff, it was something that I hadn't expected. I guess that some restaurants in Brussels don't think same about salads as I do..
But you tell me: crazy place or completely different thoughts about salad? :)
viivif replied 6 months, 3 weeks ago:
Sounds quite strange.. I think that they'd have to mention about the fact that it's not a basic salad.

When I was in Bulgary, I jumped a benji-jump, but it started from the ground...so they tighten the benji and bounce me to the sky! :D
jl replied 6 months, 4 weeks ago:
When I was younger I would have wanted to do a benji-jump but never had a chance. Now I'm too old and too scared to do it :)
viivif replied 6 months, 3 weeks ago:
I've heard that the highest bungee-jump can be made in Locarno, Switzerland. Its 220 meters high!

I would say, that Maya Bay in Thailand is a very crazy place...I'm sure, it has been very lovely, but nowadays there are sooo many tourists, that you can't even imagine it! You have to see it! That place is so spoiled, allthought it is just "in the middle of nowhere" and you have to come a very long way by a boat to get there :(
hannah replied 6 months, 4 weeks ago:
Oh, I don't really like places, where you can see more tourists than local people...it's so sad :(
