The hiking trail of dents du midi is very demanding but also very rewarding.
The trail goes around the mountain chain of dents du midi and is about 45 km long with 3.5km of ascend. Trail is full of huts that one can use to stay over. The hut of Susanfe was especially well equipped with solar panels and real beds.

The jazz/funk/soul/rap festival was our goal on a road trip. We hadn't booked an accommodation in advance though. We should've. The festival was packed with people and Montreux with its mountain background and palm trees by the lake felt like a great place. MC Common's gig was excellent and all the party people were happy. We spent the night until early morning in the venue and then on the streets before we decided to get some sleep... and headed to our car to sleep in it, as no other option was available..

Awesome skiing resort with plenty of slopes and good off piste skiing. There are also several ski routes to finish off your legs with steep, bumpy and sometimes rocky rides. After ski and nightlife is pretty good too with cheap beer and good crowds.

I was surprised to find out that there are also on piste avalanches! We were going from Flegere to Brevent when we found out that the connecting cabin was closed because of an avalanche...

A lot of young people enjoying the slopes. The slopes were almost too crowded but there were no queues to the lifts. The resort was quite well organized: after one of the cabins going from a ski area to another was closed because of an avalanche, we were provided a quick bus ride from the nearest village back to our car.

Villars is a nice small ski resort facing south therefore being a great "balcony" over the valley and geneva lake. Climbing up offers a great panorama on the Diablerets Mountains.

Nice quiet village above the famous spa resorts of Evian and Thonon, overlooking Lac Leman. Fabulous views, beautiful surroundings, yet within walking distance (more or less) from the jetset nightlife of the expensive lakeshore resorts. Affordable accomodation and eating.

There is many places in Chamonix were you can enjoy good after ski. Maybe the best place is the biggest nigth-club. There is every nigth a Dj playing different kind of music. So if you like to dance and listen good party music, I can recommend this place to you:)
