For getting around easily, use the great Vélib community bicycle service. The daily fee is EUR 1 and using bicycles for up to 30 minutes is free after that. When using the bikes for longer, the prices increase every 30 minutes, so this is clearly intended for short-time use. Suggested use pattern: Grab a bike, drive to the next spot you want to visit, drop the bike. There shouldn't be a problem to find a station, as they are located within 300m distance from each other. Just try to avoid the stations at the main sights, chances are really bad there is a free place to return a bike at the Eiffel tower, for example. Two streets further, the situation usually looks better already.

When standing under the arc, the straight Champs Élysées looks really amazing and the Arc de Triomphe in the distance is alligned perfectly.

I've just booked two nights to stay at the Hotel Odeon in St Germain. http://www.odeonhotel.fr/ It's well priced, in a great location and looks cool. Has been highly recommended by many people and I selected it after 3 hours of research.

The cathedral of Notre Dame is a very impressive sight. I was fortunate enough to walk in to Sunday Mass, which was very impressive. Also, there is a cemetary tour, which takes you into the catacombs under the Notre Dame. The catacombs tour is a must see, and it took me back to Indian Jones movie when he is looking for the grail!

Paris is one the must-see places with it's multiple world famous sights and attractions. However, we spent a great new year's eve there without seeing much of the sights. Instead the party at the university made the day. :-)

This majestic Gothic cathedral is a mystic must-see experience in the middle of Paris, on an island in river Seine. It's Grandes Orgues are one of the best of its kind in the whole world, so do not miss a concert every Sunday on 4:30 pm.

Lots of things to see. Hotel & restaurants can be pretty expensive at least if you plan on staying close to the center.

The size of the Arc is truly dwarfing, and pictures can not fully explain its size. This landmark must be seen up close, and then referenced with historical pictures of the past like Hitler's army marching past it.

Use the Metro to get around. It is fast, cheap and you don't have to worry about parking.

Paris is a good destination if you want tho shpo or see monuments. But if you have to live there, it's just horrible (pollution, stress...)

Although I wasn't a child anymore, Disney Land was a total adventure for me. The age doesn't really matter, this is a wonderland for everyone! I also saw the parade, sun was shining and everything was so great! That was an unforgettable day in my life. I think that one day isn't really enough, you can spend undoubtly three days or more in that magic world.

Great way of getting around between famous sights is the Batobus which is a kind of river shuttle bus with 8 stops on the river.

Come early in the morning, otherwise you'll spend most of the day queing.

La Villa hotel is a small, modern hotel located on the Left Bank of Paris. It was designed by a student of Philip Stark has has a cool Jetsons-looking jazz bar downstairs. But the rooms themselves are tiny and downright sterile and gloomy feeling You don't get any of the passion of Paris. The only good thing is the hotel is located in a perfect spot at 29 Rue Jacob. Literally across the street is where Colette wrote; next door is where Ingres painted; the Seine, Louvre and Notre Dame are only two blocks away. But there are plenty of other boutique hotels in this area of Saint Germain de Pres that give you more of the Paris ambiance.

this was a really nice and definately genuine french small restaurant. very few tourists but backed full of locals, it seems. no english menu, but you'll manage ;)

Do not use the elevator, instead use stairs!

the windows here are a marvel: each has a metal mechanism that opens the aperture to control the amount of sunlight coming through. beautiful from the outside, crazy interesting on the inside. a beautiful building. bonus: next to the seine, near a beautiful garden, and the bistro on the corner is pretty good.

Could this be the most fascinating castle in the whole Europe? Grandiose halls after halls. But still with somewhat intimate feeling. Outside are magnificent and pretty well kept gardens, a place to wander around and imagine living a couple of hours as a ruler of the whole nation - safely somewhere outside the garden walls.

We made a day-trip from Paris to Versailles and it definitely was worth it. I have my doubts about the sanity of the french royals but must admit that they knew how to create a flamboyant court. Especially liked the Hall of Mirrors with the view over the gardens.

use the stairs only if you can. It's hard to go to the top of the tower ;)

Louvre has 35,000 works of art, so it isn't that much, when I compare it for example with Hermitage Museum, where I also have been. But as everyone knows, you can see there the famous portrait of Mona Lisa. I think it was somehow a disillusion for me, because that portrait was so small and there where so many people ahead of it! But that museum as a whole was still worth seeing.

"I expected something else" that was my first thought, when I standed beside the Eiffel Tower. That construction looked so little and somehow rusty. But when I got up, I was stumped. The city was so huge and I saw so far. It was totally different to stand in the top of the Eiffel relatively standing in the ground.

Plan an entire day. Avoid the hours of free admission, and the days when students are out of school.

A small but idyllic village near Paris, not very easy to reach with public transport.

this hotel was a good value, and the staff was very helpful. the first room (first floor courtyard) was very musty; i asked to change, and they accomodated me. the second room was much better. small, of course, the location was great. a wonderful high-end secondhand shop was nearby. the 16th district is beautiful.

There is a restaurant at the top if you can get a reservation!

This is an amazing art museum home to the Mona Lisa and Venus di Milo.

Paris...Paris is Paris...what else can I say)))

The whole area of Disney Land is a huge shopping place! But, there are lots of little boutiques and I'm sure you can't leave the place without bying something. It's all so "commercial"(sad but true), but everyone buys little mickey mouses and Plutos from there. I also have one small tiger in my home and it always reminds me of my trip to Disney Land...

I don't usually enjoy eating junk food, but in Hard Rock Cafe this junk food was an experience. Those tasty french fries and huge hamburgers were so delicious! And also that atmosphere was magnificent...but it might result from my age, because I was 16 years old and at the first time travelling alone.

Actually, this is EuroDisney, but anyway. I have been there twice and I suggest you should take 2 days that you can see everything and don´t have to hurry. Both times gave me so much fun. I can say that there is the world´s best ghost train! I haven´t seen anything like that anywhere. I liked those fun machines but also different shows, like parades. There are lots of shops where you can buy Disney items, you name it. Every evening ends up to the fireworks.

This Paris landmark is over 300 metres high iron tower. It´s sometihing you must see if you are in Paris. I wasn´t brave enough to go the top level, so I stayed in the first level. It was more than enough for me :) I don´t like that much of high places. Although the view from the top was much better than from the lowest level.

This place is situated in the centre of traffic circle in Paris. At the top burns the tomb of the unknown soldier. From the top are great views around the city. This is something with the Eiffel Tower you must see if you´re in Paris.

Louvre is a huge museum with one-of-a-kind collection of paintings and sculpture. Definitely one of the must-see sights in Paris. Just don't settle for Mona Lisa but check out other masterpieces as well.

Remember to check all the Louis Vuitton stores in different floors!

Many people have said here, that Paris people are rude...I totally agree with that. If I pushed somebody by accident in the street, they were so angry...and they don't smile at all! :(
