Restaurant belonging to AS Restaurants -chain. Offers traditional plates from the region eg. sautéed reindeer, trout and also some more exotic dishes as bear meatballs and snowgrouse. The interior is also made with traditional log cabin elements *sigh*

Literally a "cool" place to visit during winter. Quite a sight for someone who's not used to white, snowy winter.

Forestry Museum contains many old buildings and equipment from the times of lumber industry.

A cozy place in the city centre of Rovaniemi to go in the evening with your friends. The prices are a bit above the average, but you should still visit the place. The athmosphere is good and the place isn't that dingy like some other pubs.

Lapland Hotel Sky Ounasvaara’s 300-seat restaurants serves breakfast and lunches to hotels guests, but during the dinner its one of the best restaurants in Finland outside Helsinki.

Great cafe / bar in the centre of Rovaniemi. Delicious snacks & drinks. "The Cafe where everything is for sale" - you really need to check this retro place out if coming to Rovaniemi!

Now when the christmas is coming, there is an awesome place to visit near Rovaniemi. Joulukka is a secret place for Santa Claus and his little elves. It's is usually open only for groups, but they count two people as a group :)

You can taste this specialty everywhere in Lappland (the genuine one): mashed potatoes and reindeer meat sauce! Instead of those pizzas, steaks and hamburgers, try this in local restaurants or if you have an opportunity, ask some local inhabitants to make that for you.

Don't miss the Arktikum; "It is a museum, science centre, popular cultural venue with impressive meeting and congress facilities and an architectural sight in its own right" (www.arktikum.fi) It's really a must if you want to understand more about life in the north - and even the kids don't get bored in this museum :) It's also easy to reach after being located in the center.

Try Lapland Safaris' snowmobile safaris starting begin of December 2011 in Rovaniemi

Do you feel attracted by the northern forests? If so then this is the place to see. Not many places where you can try a hunting simulator for example..
