About places near Korpoström

If you enjoy watching the sea view and just want to forget the hectic life, this is so relaxing! In the winter the place is more quiet, but in the summer there are more possibilities to spend time. There are also other beautiful islands and I can really recommend Keistiö. Only about 50 year-round inhabitants and one little shop. Nothing can disturb your stay in there.
nipsu from Finland wrote about Island of Seili 4 years, 5 months ago
Earlier I knew only the dark side of this mystic island, that there had been leprous people and everyone, who went to that island, never came back to normal life again. We had a conducted tour in Seili last summer and it was so interesting, I heard also the positive aspects. And there was also very unique church. So next summer, take a ferry and go there, but I recommend to take part of those conducted tours. It gives you so much more.

Funny place. There is a little nature trail which has funny signs. The tower wasn't open in November, but in the sun set it turned in to pink :)
On the rock in front of the tower you can find little white stones. Several people had written their own name with them and some of them had written their beloveds name too :D So cute!

We visited the church on all saints day and the graveyard was filled with burning candles. It was looking quite amazing. We didn't dare to go in the church cause we happened to be there while the church service had already began. Beautiful church, but I'll guess this is how they usually look in Finland.

Jurmo is not for everyone - getting there is not easy nor inexpensive, and you´d better bring camping gear. But those who have seen this isolated strip of boulders and gravel never forget it. Take your time to read the headstones in the little graveyard, and you may get a glimpse into the harsh life not only of the inhabitants, but of unlucky travellers cast away here.

I love the Finnish archipelago, it's so beautiful. You don't always have to travel far away to experience beautiful wild nature... Come sailing or rent a cottage!

It's so true, nothing can disturb you. The inhabitation mostly consists of idyllic summer cottages by the water. It's so quiet one elderly man living there once said: "It bloody happens nothing here ever. I wish there was even just one little forest fire!"

And let's not think that as a tip :D
tilkkuliini from Finland wrote about Parola Nature Trail 4 years, 4 months ago
We were here in the autumn when there was the first night frost. We walked along the nature trail and climbed to the hill just when the sun was rising. View was absolutely beautiful! No noises and the wind was calm. It's a shame we didn't have a picnic basket with us :)
Because the ground was freezed you had to be really careful in the hill. There is an interesting ski jumping slope near the parking place in the coordinates N 60° 11.973 E 022° 03.357.
tilkkuliini from Finland wrote about Kasberget 4 years, 4 months ago
The most beautiful place in whole Varsinais-Suomi! Go and see for your self, if you don't believe me :)
There are about 8 different nature trails in Nauvo, and Kasberget is one of them. The trail goes up the hill and the view is literally breath-taking.
We didn't walk the whole trail and it took us only about half an hour. Unbelievable place.

tilkkuliini from Finland wrote about Nauvo guest harbour 4 years, 4 months ago
We were here in a bit strange time. It was in the beginning of November and there was absolutely nobody in the guest harbour! We went there first in the evening and there was a beautiful lightning. It felt like christmas. The see was calm and there was fog on it. Strange little place.
We went there again in the morning with picnic basket. Sun was shining and it was still beautiful, although the place looked totaly different in day light. So you can visit here also in Autumn, not just in summer time.

Jurmo, a remote island on the Turku archipelago offers some of the most beautiful nature in the world. There are about 6 people living there during the whole year. At summer the island is a popular visiting place for sailors and families spending their holidays on boat.
Personally I think it is best to visit Jurmo during the winter when you can face the remote beauty of its nature and athmosphere. You can buy fish from the locals. Rent a cabin from Klass Mattsson, www.jurmo.com and take long walks. Get stunned by the power of the Finnish sea and nature. Cabins are quite cheap. The ferrytrip from Nauvo to Jurmo takes about 3 hours and it is free.
