Lots of "stuff" to buy, especially tons of chess boards. :) Pretty nice selection of useless things you can bring home as souveniers.

This summer hostel, called Dom Studencki Zaułek, is modest, cheap and nice place to stay a night quite near the center of Cracow. The address is ul. Piekarska 5-7

We came back to Cracow's market square each day we spent in the city. It somehow seemed to be the real center of the city and we found everything we needed there. Good food, peaceful cafés, raucous jazz bars and of course the cloth hall (marketplace) with so many items related to Cracow's own Pope John Paul II.

The royal palace and cathedral have a great location on the Wawel hill rising steeply from the Vistula River. The place reflects the glorious past of Poland and is a good place to think about another one of those "what if" scenarios: Poland was powerful kingdom in the history - the royal palace is still look magnificient from outside.
