Chiapas, the Guatemalan part of Mexico has a colourful history. Chiapas is home for the areas cult heroes, Zapatistas, a peasant group that lives in this area. They sell their local, beautiful handicrafts and typical Zapatista dolls in all the villages. Outdoor markets and little shops are great places to buy the products and support the Zapatistas. Travel around the villages and get to know the local culture.
