wikitravel.org

"From tarantulas to black bears, coyotes to scorpions, the museum-zoo is an entrancing and full-contact tribute to the Sonoran desert's wildlife (the wire fences are nearly invisible and the hummingbirds in the buzzing, walk-in aviary seem to think you are the attraction)."
wikitravel.org

"Zoo, botanical garden and natural history museum featuring the plants and animals of the Sonoran desert."
world66.com

"In the southwest of the state, the Sonoran Desert stretches out of Mexico and into Arizona with elevations as low as about 100 feet above sea level in the Lower Colorado River Valley."
wikitravel.org

"And with a national park, a national forest, and other natural areas just beyond the city limits, Tucson is a city that celebrates its Sonoran Desert setting."
frommers.com

"Within easy reach are sights that will appeal to many different tastes, among them: Picacho Peak for easy and strenuous hikes, Catalina Canyon park, the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum (including a zoo), the historic city of Tomstone with gunfights re-enacted every day, the Titan Missile Museum, and many more."

jjtravel from Finland wrote about Mount Lemmon one year, 8 months ago

Mount Lemmon is the endpoint of a short journey from hot and sunny desert to a winter skiing area near Summerhaven resort, almost 3 000 m above sealevel. The nature changes in an equal way compared to a drive from Tucson to Canada - this is easier :)
