Nothing beats a hot summer's day at the ballpark with a cold one and a hot dog enjoying a baseball game. The Toronto Blue Jays play at Rogers Centre (formerly SkyDome) which has a retractable roof in case it rains! When the roof is open, you're able to get a beautiful view of the CN Tower. I highly recommend you check out at least one game if you're in Toronto this summer. Here's the Blue Jays 2009 schedule:

For those who enjoy roller blading or just walking along the beach. The Toronto boardwalk is absolutely beautiful in the summer. Once you're tired of walking and need to refresh yourself, there's a great place called the Boardwalk Pub to grab some food and drinks.

Love the St. Lawrence market area. Great restaurants and pubs plus you have to try the peameal sandwiches at Paddingtons at the market. Order from the takeout counter and sit outside.

Toronto is a great place to visit but you may not want to come in the winter when it's cold and there's a lot of snow.

Public transportation in Toronto - known as the TTC - is a great and relatively inexpensive way to get around.

Toronto is a very clean and friendly city. Low crime rate and lots of things to do as well as many good restaurants.

A big city with a small city feeling. Very much to my liking: lots of things to see and most of them at a walking distance. The athmosphere in Toronto reminded me of New York, except that it wasn't so packed and busy but more fun. I visited Toronto during Feb. I imagine that the parks and beaches and isles would make the city even more fun during the summer months.

My first visit to Canada began in Toronto. The weather was awful but the city was just great. It was like New York but better.

Toronto is my home town and the city offers a series a self guided Discovery Walks in interesting neighbourhoods including the Belt Line, an old railway line from the 1890s now located in an rich area of the city.

Anyone visiting Toronto should go to the the local microbrewery next to the CN tower - the Steam Whistle

Vinnie's Panini is one of the best places in Toronto to get a veal sandwich. Located at 787 Dupont (just west of Shaw St.), it is a small place that also serves up meatball sandwiches and coffee.

Even if you're not a big hockey fan, Hockey Hall of Fame should be an interesting place to visit. I'm not and I enjoyed it. If in Toronto, don't miss it!

One of the highest buildings on Earth reaching about 450 meters in height if I remember right. Offers great views and is a must see place when in Toronto.

rent a bicycle and explore the island. Quaint tiny cottages and amusement park.

Be sure to have lot of time when you're having an onward flight connection. This airport is one those where you get lost easily. And once you get yourself in a certain area, it's not that easy to get back where you came from.

I spent a summer at the university. It was fantastic.

CN Tower is THE sight in Toronto. But then again, it's only a tall tower. :-) I didn't go up. The tower is a great landmark and it looks quite majestetic. I arrived in Toronto late in the evening and the tower was a spectacular sight in the dark with different colors of lights going up and down the tower.

This is where Toronto's basketball and ice hockey teams play their homegames. In this huge sports venue everything is labeled after either Raptors or Maple Leafs. I went to see Toronto Maple Leafs play againts Columbus Blue Jackets. It was a thight game that ended 3-4 for the visiting team after penalty shots. Of the finnish players Niklas Hagman was on ice but Vesa Toskala didn't play... We definitely would've needed Toskala as the goalkeeper...

A laid-back neighborhood with lots of small stores and cafes selling items from organic olive oil to shisha pipes and what not. An excellent place to hang out in the summer months. Or as one of the shopkeepers told me: "It's very nice and busy here always, except for January and February."

A cheap hotel at a very convenient location. The hotel was only 100 meters from the College subway station and at a walking distance to most of the major tourist sights. Free wifi worked well in the lobby but wasn't usable in my room at 21st floor. Fitness room was ok, if you settle for free weights.

The nearest airport express bus stop is about one and a half blocks away.

A huge shopping mall spanning two or three blocks. Very conveniently located in downtown next to subway stops Dundas and Queen. A lot of people sitting by the fountain and otherwise hanging out.

Winter only! :-) An ice skating ring with skate rentals at the city centre by the city hall? I saw quite a few happy skaters there even on a regular work day. Wonder how packed the place will be on weekends?

Supposedly one of the hidden gems of Toronto. I didn't have time to visit this Indian restaurant but I was told that it is the best in Toronto. Despite the hole-in-the-wall looks and cardboard plates, the food is excellent. On my todo-list for my next visit.

A hip jazz bar on Queen Street West. Supposedly very tasty food in great premises. This appraisal I heard from a professional musician who really sounded like he knows everything worth knowing about Toronto. On my todo-list for my next visit to Toronto.

AGO is worth visiting only for the crazy architecture by Toronto's own Frank Gehry. The almost labyrinth-like building surprises you many times when you wander through the halls and stairs. The north-side facade looks magnificient especially from inside. I was short of time so I wish I would have gone directly to the two upper floors where they hosted the very interesting contemporary art exhibitions. Also the ship models in the basement were definitely worth seeing.

The entrance fee is $18CAD. Plus $1 for leaving your coat.

Bolton is great for a day hike if in the Toronto area. The Humber Heritage Trail is about 17 km long. In Bolton the trail starts from a park along the Humber River and heads north into a huge ravine. The terrain on the route is gentle hills with a 2 km country road section before connecting with the Trans Canada Trail. The best time to hike is in late September or early October when the trees are ablaze with colour.
