Fun city for shopping and clubbing I guess.
They really need to do something against pollution.
Probably one of the best places in the world to buy camera equipment (remaining cautious).

The combination of bus, light rail, ferry and underground, with a single week/month long pass, (operating on the honor system) (which San Francisco is planning on imitating) makes getting around a dream.

De facto budget traveler's choice in Hong Kong. The building definitely doesn't look inviting, but inside you can find as many as 80 "guest houses" - apartments transformed into guest rooms.

I stayed at "New Harbour Guest House" at Block C - clean rooms, some with own bathroom. I left some of my luggage there for 2 weeks for 200HKD. No problems at all!

going there for one whole day on a transit flight. any ideas what to see in such a short time?

jussi

jussi replied 4 years ago:

I'd say go hiking the Dragon's Back trail (the best urban hike http://www.time.com/time/asia/2004/boa/boa_body_hike.html ). But outdoorsy hiking may be difficult on a transit - just strolling in the waterfront gives some idea of HK's hustle and bustle...
