If your head and feet are up to it, it's definitely worth taking the 530 steps up to the dome and enjoy the wonderful views over London. Also the whispering gallery is a must stop in the middle. The scary part with rusty iron see-through staircases starts only from here so you may also turn back and descend if you are scared of heights.

London Science Museum is must visit for all science fans. It's also very kids friendly sight, once there is lot's to do in the Hands-on exhibits (Launchpad). Museums exhibition is large so focus on the subjects you're interested in, rather then running all through. Museum store is also great place to find souvinirs too. And entry is free!

Camden Jazz cafe is the coolest venue in London. The best of the best in Jazz, R'nB, Soul etc. Went to see Angie Stone there (fantastic).

Hyde Park is very popular among runners. It takes about 45 min to (slowly) jog around the park, including the neighboring Kensington Gardens.

Gordon's Wine bar is an excellent place between the Embankment and Charing Cross Underground stations. Good wines by the bottle, VERY nice atmosphere and a great terrace when the weather is good. A must-place for every London visit.

The old King's castle, lots of history and other fun stuff to see for all who like medieval history. Take the tour guided by the Beefeaters, they tell great stories of beheadings and other neat stuff.

London is great for a romantic weekend. I've lived in the city for over 7 years and I still find new and interesting places to take dates. Hyde Park is especially cool, in the summer of course.

Great views over London but a bit overpriced, just like almost everything in this city. Yuo get a discount if you have an Oyster card (which is a car for the underground, bus, etc)

looking for an opportunity to slum it out? being transported back to the east london of the 1800s? shadwell is the place for you. mainly low-rise derelict council estates, the occasional 20-floor "skyscraper" about to collapse and more than a fair share of junkies, dealers, pimps 'n hoes. come here on a rainy november day and you will see things in perspective again. only 5 minutes away from the Tower and Tower Bridge, Shadwell is a must for anyone wanting to see more of London than the Crown Jewels or Mayfair's clubbing scene.

Fascinating church built by the knights templar in 12th century. Was featured in the Da Vinci Code, which makes it a popular attraction nowadays. Nevertheless, a very interesting place to visit.

North African restaurant. Not cheap but ok value as the food is good and portions generous. The main reason to visit is the atmosphere; it really feels like dining in Marrakech;-)

There's a coctail-bar also and a club in the cellar (hard to get in). Book in advance, as the place is popular.

Generally speaking I tend to hate museums, but the War Museum here was pretty entertaining. Not like an ACDC concert but OK!

The Tube is the easiest way to get around. Very quick to learn and lots of places are within walking distance of each other...ie. Big Ben, Picadilly Place, Chinatown, Oxford Circus...

A cool looking bridge from the distance but really nothing special walking over it etc. You can get 100% of the value just by staring at it from a distance.

I hate tourists and if there is one place in London where you can find them all at the same time then this is it. If you're around there then sure, sit down somewhere and wait for the change of guard. You won't see anything. Don't go there, try e.g. the Cabinet war rooms or British Museum instead.

London is huge city but some of its different districts have a nice small town feeling. We had an authentic experience when visiting an indian restaurant in the west end.. Or the hippy Camden.. Or one could just go to Piccadilly Circus because the name just sounds so funny.

We visited London with my boyfriend for 4 nights. We were sleeping in the Corus Hotel Hyde Park, which is locatedjust near the Kensington Park and Hyde Park.

Two days of shopping and two days of sightseeing. Every evening we went for a romantic walk to the Hyde Park. So, four evenings, and we still didn't see everything in the park. It's HUGE! And Romantic <3

London Zoo is great but not on cold, rainy day like May 1st. We were entertained by a monkey that got hold of a keeper's knife. The keeper got it back eventually with no injuires to any of the monkeys or the keeper.

London is too huge for my taste. I've never been there in summer and it has always been dark, moist and cold. I've been there only for business and that might lower my opinion of the city, but still I think it is a bit too big and urban for my taste.

There are often concerts in this church which seem to be really good!

A great park to take a walk or whatever. We walked through the whole park and it really was beautiful. During summer it would have been great to have a picnic there too.

A decent hotel with good location and wireless LAN in the lobby. The room was very small but who cares, you' re not spending your time there anyways too much. The shower was good too, no carpets on the floor or anything. Great!

Heathrow is one of the worst airports in Europe. The place is always too crowded and the queues to check-ins and security checks are incredibly long. I try to avoid Heathrow even though it's not easy as most international flights to London land here.

London is unique by its diversity! Avoid to be there for New Year's Eve!

Great place to grab some food.

Not a great place but cheap. Free wifi means a free 1 Mbps spotty wifi.

What I did not realize about the Abby was it stars more dead people than Casablanca and the pay toilet across the street will about put you in the grave.

Riverside dinning at its best, can be found at Slug & Lettuce.

Bring lots of money. Very expensive.

Camden Town was great!

In london there is a little bit of something for everyone. Expensive!

Private club for media types, AD people, Internet dude/dudettes, artists and alike. Requires invite, membership or - like in our case - just walking in. Cool bars (club in 1st fl) and restaurant in the 2nd. Recommended if you're working in the business - good place for networking, meal and a coctail.

Dolphin house serviced appartments are good value. 350eur/night (or much less if you stay long) gets you two bedrooms (w/kings. beds) with separate bathrooms, sitting room and a kitchen. Nice location too near to central London. Might be just the right pick for eg. two couples traveling together.
Dolphin house also has a gym, pool, swimmin center, shampagne bar and a grill.

Nice no-frills bar with Japanese Kirin Beer on tap (3.40GBP). Also light snacks served. Artsy crowd. Two Floors has been around for quite a while - an achievement for any bar in soho + i heard the place is _really_ packed on weekends.

If you like history then go and see the Cabinet War Rooms where Churchill and other cabinet members went during bombing raids. There's also a Churchill museum in there. Really interesting stuff!

Although you have to pay to enter (unlike many other museums in London) it is worth the visit, allow at least all afternoon to see everything.

This is a wax museum and famous. Wax people differ due to who´s hot and who´s not that hot. You can find there, for example the British Royal Family, Elvis, Albert Einstein, Marilyn Monroe and lots of other wax figures. Maybe you have a chance to get a photo of you with your idol :)

We only went to see tee Palace from the outside. It was raining like h***, but there were still plenty of other people too. Best time to be there is propably before noon, when they "swich" the guards (Yes, very good English :D).

Funny thing, when you give your man a map, tell a place where you want to go and the man is REALLY sure which direction we have to go. Well, that direction is usually wrong :D This time we didn't find the whole Trafalgar Square on the first try. I really don't how that's possibly, but I can tell you, it is.

On the next try, I was watching the map, and we found there. Have to say, that I tought it would have been a bigger place. Well, at least we have now seen it :D

Btw. Really good place for kissing in front of the pools in the square ;)

Which is the best place to stay?

Don't miss seeing the pelicans in St James Park - there are 3 of them and they get fed at about 2pm.

I loved walking around the Hyde Park in the evening. It is so quiet there just before they close the gates. Kind of miss there already :)

London, as I remember it, is a beautiful place filled with wonderful people. I went when I was around six maybe but I remember the atmosphere. What I recall most is the Tower Bridge (I think that's what it's called). It's magnificent! I remember the London Clock Tower (again, sorry if that's not what it's called), standing in front of it looking up at the top. I recommend London if you're planning a trip to England!

On a weekend to London with my girlfriend we took a Harry Potter Tour and it stopped at this great little place in the City - Leadenhall Market. It was so quiet and magical. A really great find so check it out.

The British museum is a must see in London even for people who don't really like museum.
