Skansen, an outdoor museum and a zoo of mostly scandinavian animals is a place to see if you are interested in the ways of the old. There are dosens of workshops there they make glass, prints, gold, wallpapers and anything you can imagine using the ways of the past.

Skansen is also a place to go if you have kids. Lot's of animals and old buildings to see and a very child friendly restaurants at the top of the hill near the entrance.

A-ma-zing. A "must see" when you visit Stockholm (and are even the least interested in seeing a 17th century ship wreck that has been lifted from the sea and restored).

Ah, Sweden's pride, the magnificient royal warship Vasa.. Sunk on her maiden voyage. :-) Vasamuseet is a museum built around the Vasa ship although they have another items on display as well. The ship is really huge and definitely worth seeing.

Rosendals lovely organic gardens and cafe in the heart of Drurgården are a perfect place to have a break and a nice cup of coffee or tea with tasty homemade pastries. Do not forget to taste the carrot cake.

Underground shopping in Stockholm

Neat clothing and other stuff for rebellious mind. From Blue Fox you can find punk-, rock- and other alternative styles. Fascinating hair colors. All you have dreamed and more.

Restaurant München in münchebryggeriet is quite good. A bit pricey though.

fcassel

fcassel from Sweden wrote about Bee's Thaifood 4 years, 11 months ago

Actually, this place serves the best Thaifood in Stockholm. Thanks to the brilliant efficiency of the personnell, not least around lunchtime, they also boast the best prices. Try the Pad Thai or the Beef Panaeng.

I join to recommend to see the Wasa ship and the old town. In the old town, there are plenty og smalla boutiques and cosy coffeehouses. These are the best places in Stockholm, otherwise it is like any big city - high houses and busy traffic.

per

per from Finland wrote about Vallentuna 4 years, 5 months ago

Vallentuna-Täby, just north of Stockholm, has the largest population of runic stones in the world. Many are easily accessible from country roads - which still follow the trails used in Viking ages.

hiisku

hiisku from Finland wrote about Lush store 4 years, 5 months ago

I love Lush store! They sell fresh handmade cosmetics and the boutique is definitely wicked! I love the smell and the colours and the products. My favorite is sonic death monkey soap and I visit this store every time I'm in Stockholm. They have stores in Götgatan 26, Södermalm; Centralstation and Stureplan

tilkkuliini

hiisku

hiisku from Finland wrote about Scandic Kungens Kurva Stockhol 4 years, 5 months ago

this hotel is situated to world's biggest IKEA!!! if you're visiting stckholm with a car, i recommend this hotel, otherwise it may be quite far away from the city center... the hotel is not dirt-cheap, the prices are quite the same as in Finland. hotel rooms are comfortable and very quiet and the staff is very friendly!

marjokay

psalmi

psalmi from Finland wrote about Freys 4 years, 4 months ago

Lovely hotel downtown Stockholm just a few steps away from central railway station and Sergel's Torg. Hotel is comfortably decorated with velvet wall papers and cat themed paintings. Beds are comfortable and service friendly, overall a very excellent experience if you are looking for a good night in Stockholm.

psalmi

psalmi from Finland wrote about Belgobaren 4 years, 4 months ago

Belgobaren in the first floor of Hotel Freys has the largest collection of Belgina beer in whole of scandinavia.

To add to the experience, Belgobaren also serves excellent dishes from giant burgers to swedish specialities. If you have dislike for hotel restaurants, this is the place to visit and see a brilliant exception.

It has been a few years since I have been here last time, but I remember that the Viking Boat is a horrible thing :D It makes you feel so ill!

In the early Autumn, when the nights are allready dark, the park is looking interesting because of the colorful lights.
