About Sapporo

If you are coming to Sapporo via New Chitose Airport, and expect to be lodging somewhere around the city centre, don't make the mistake of taking the bus from the airport: sure, the bus will eventually take you to your hotel, but the bus ride can take two hours, while the train service to Sapporo central JR train station takes only 36 minutes, and you can board the train directly from the airport. Upon reaching Sapporo, there will be plenty of taxis available at the train station. The biggest hotels are within walking distance from the station, so the taxi will not cost too much.
