I went to college in San Luis Obispo and in a town with no drive-thrus (seriously) you have to try eating everywhere! My absolute favorite was Nucci's. You must go and have the raspberry salad - it's to die for. There are 2 locations in town and it's very affordable.

The Embassy Suites is a really nice hotel in San Luis Obispo with a great happy hour (free!) and fantastic lobby area, but it is on the expensive side.
