Salo, Italy by Lago di Garda might have been one of the most silent towns I've visited. No doubt, during summer time there is hustle and bustle but in January the place was super quiet. Very idyllic nevertheless. My first rendezvous with Lake Garda.

Did you know that violin was invented in Italy, on the shores of Lago di Garda? That's what Gasparo's statue told me!

The winding road up to Madonna di Campiglio goes through a number of pictoresque villages. So it would be good idea to go both ways during daylight. Driving the road in the dark was not much fun.
