Namche Bazaar, the trading village near base camp, is wonderful. Stay at Anu's Guesthouse. Tengboche Monastery, a half-day climb from Namche, cannot be missed. Listen to the monks chant and feel revived and peaceful

Did you go to the top of Mount Everest? :)
hollis replied 3 years, 5 months ago:
No way! We were there in January, trekking in a foot or more of snow and only went as far as Tengboche, still at least a day from base camp. Anytime you are that close, however, the mountains surrounding you make you feel as though you are already at the top of the world.
