Great energy, beautiful and green! Lovely restaurants and hotels, tons of green space/parks. And it's a river town!

I got the opportunity to visit Portland for a friends wedding and fell in love with it. The city is pretty fun to romp around and visit, but the coolest parts were just to the east. The Columbia River basin is breath-taking and the Multnomah and Horsetail falls are spectacular.
