Prater holds a very fun amusement park. All the rides there are pretty expensive but most of them are very cool. If it's summertime and you're in Vienna wondering what to do, then spending the evening at Prater is not a bad choice!

Awesome palace and must for every culture-hungry visitor in town. If you are not into paying the ticket, the zoo and gardens around are worth seeing as well.

A few of the the WW II anti-aircraft towers are still intact in the city. One of them houses a giant aquarium and several others are popular picnic spots. They are all worth seeing... for archtitectural value, if nothing else.

Great place to go, especially during winter time. Beautiful city with compact shopping, great cafes (try original Sacher Torte at Hotel Sacher) and good sightseeing. 'Must place' to all who love good desserts and/or culture.

Vienna offers easy transportation services. Works even for a blonde!

In the first floor of this hotel you will find the Café Sacher, a place to buy an Original Sacher-Torte with you. This pricy cake is well worth testing because the taste is something unbelievably delicious. A perfect combination with apricot brandy!

Vienna State Opera season starts unfortunately on September and thus we are going to miss the season opening when visiting the place on August.

We are going to try their Dinner and Concert offers instead.

Karlskirche, an impressive baroque church with an ellipsoid shaped dome and two distinctive columns on sides. Later a large water pool, designed by Henry Moore, is added in front of the church. In the middle of this pool there is his magnificent statue 'Hill Arches'. Indeed an enchanting combination.

With Schönbrunn Palace Belvedere Palace is the most impressive of Vienna palaces. The palace houses interesting museums and outside is a lovely and well kept park which is open to public.

In Schönbrunn Palace one can see tens of glorious rooms decorated in original style. Huge gardens surrounding the palace are well kept, with harmonious gloriette looming on its highest point.

From the Naturhistorisches Museum, situated in a grandiose palace, houses a huge collection, consisting of more that 20 million objects. A highligt of all this is a small but extremely fascinating prehistoric Venus figurine, the famous Venus of Willendorf.

A huge market area, offering an endless colourful and refreshing escape from the history filled centre of Wien.

Hotel Hollmann Beletage Design & Boutique was a unique place in the downtown vienna in first district just a few blocks from all major sights.

The atmosphere of this hotel cannot be described in words. Everything is designed to be unique and quite unlike anything I've ever experienced before.

Rooms are quite big (for 2 persons at least). What makes them different is their design. Bath is in a closet-like space behind a desk+bed combination. Minibar is put in an oval shaped table and decoration is finished with a nice sofa.

Breakfast in this hotel is unique, too. Instead of an average breakfast buffet, you'll have your own "mini-buffet", sortiments of cheese, meat (or fish) and vegetables on your own small plate. Contents of the plate changes daily but every day you get also freshly squeezed energy juice, fruit salad, cereals (in a design jars, of course) and a selection different omelettes and desserts.

Fabolous place and best breakfast in any hotel I've ever been.

I didn't like Vienna. I do not know why. The local people wasn't nice. The weather was terrable.

Nice if you collect royal houses.

Vienna was the fourth stop of our trip, if you count our quick visit to Venice that is. Instead of the normal way of traveling by plane we took the more idyllic option and took a river boat. In just quick six hours we were from Budapest to Vienna and saw a great deal more than you would see from a plane. The bad thing was that it took almost two extra hours because of the dams ans canals in our way.

They have cd-player, tv and free lan connection in every room and a small movie theatre with three shows every night. It's only that you need to know some germany before the movies are of use as most of them didn't have any subtitles.

Museumsquartet in Vienna is the home of numerous museums in one place. We decided to visit MoMA, museum of modern art and Austrias national museum on the other side of the square.

Museums were, as expected, dull as museums get (or disruptive, when it comes to modern art) but most fun we got out the ticket office when trying to buy a cheaper family ticket for just the two of us. Apparently being pregnant doesn't count as family but the clerk pitied us enough to give us the discount anyway.

What is a visit to Vienna without an opera? Nothing it seems as eating a fish sandwich from a street bar proved to be a bad idea. I suffered from a food poisoning and had to stay confined in the hotel quarters for the next 36 hours and was unable to do anything touristy in the city.

When comparing to Schönbrunn, I liked it more, because there our guided tour had lot of humour and it was more interesting. Still, both palaces are worth seeing...you can only imagine, how was the life in those places hundreds of years ago...

Haven't seen anything like that before. I liked especially about those villages that the artist has created. There are funny floors and toilets :D
