Mayflower Park Hotel, USA

A centrally located hotel in downtown Seattle. The monorail stop is in the same block and its an easy walking distance to the public market and to Pioneer's Square.

The rooms were bit on the small side. The fitness room is not worth mentioning. Free wifi worked well.

Best oyster selection that I've had. Local and east coast.

One of the things that makes Seattle unique is its history of the last century. Be sure to check out the "Underground Tour." Downtown Seattle used to be about 10 feet below where it is now! Long story.

this place is AMAZING-- one of the most remarkable libraries I've ever seen (right up there with the Copenhagen University Library). check out the cool spiral design.

Hands down, my favorite city I've been to in the world. (not saying much yet...) Fun, easy to get around, reasonable prices, clean, friendly, safe, laid-back. Aquarium is awesome, don't bother with the MoMA unless you're an art major. :) The Public Market is all you've heard about and more, do it.

Eat at any of Tom Douglas restaurants! I highly recommend LoLa on the corner of 4th and Virginia. Awesome lunch! For the best Coconut Cream Pie go across the street to Dhalia Bakery .

Beutiful surrounding... cold and rainy.

With our flights cancelled and all the accompanying hassle we had to spend quite some time at the airport. I've rarely seen a worse airport. Difficult to navigate, takes a long time to go from one terminal to another, ongoing construction work at the gates, etc. No free wifi.

An old hotel in Seattle Downtown, next to the convention centre. A very basic hotel. No free wifi, no fitness room to speak of.

A short (and old?) monorail train traversing about 1km track along the 4th avenue from downtown the space centre. One-way ticket is only $2.

The longest functioning public market in the U.S. The market is in an old building and there are a lot of small boutiques and buy-and-sell shops by the narrow corridors. There were a lot of tourists strolling around. We just walked by the market before noon and didn't spend time shopping around.

The square was a nice walking distance from our hotel so we went there to see the "original Seattle". The square is supposedly the place to see the classical architecture. E.g. the Smith Tower is located by the square. There was also the bust statue of Seattle, the famous native american chief.

Built for the World Exposition in the 1960's, the tower represented science and progress. The tower is still a major sight and is featured on many image collages of the most important monuments of the USA. On a clear day the tower is a great place to get an overview of the city.

Everything seems to be up-hill!
This is the only place I have EVER entered a shopping center in the basement, gone up 3 floors and STILL exited on street level.
