Be sure to visit Christiania and the Zoo, you'll see different kinds of animals in both places ;)

The queen has her own elephant in the zoo. That's quite cute.

Absolutely fantastic bagels, good coffee and organic juice in a part of town where it's nearly impossible to find anything non-sweet for breakfast. Recommend!
paavo from Indonesia wrote about CabInn express 4 years, 10 months ago
Crappy but inexpensive hotel. Small rooms resemble C-class cabins on a passenger ferry but can house 4 in their three-storey layout.
Recommend if you're more into sleeping than atmosphere; not a choice for honeymoon;)

Artists Jeppe Hein and his sister Lærke Hein have created an ultra-cool bar/restaurant which turns into a club on weekends nights. I totally 100% recommend for cool-hunters, artsy types and lovers of French cuisine.
Check the website and make sure to reserve a table, since the place is very popular: http://karrierebar.com/

Fun & relatively large club in two floors. They have good bands playing in the lower floor and a relaxed, yet quite drunken bar-thing on the top. When I visited the place for the first time they had a couple girls who would cut your hair(!) for free(!) on the dance floor. Weird experience having a beer (with hair) & your hair cut while being surrounded by a big dancing crowd.
It usually costs to get in and the lines can get pretty long.

A beautiful palace surrounded by a great park. Definitely worth seeing and the park invites to hang out for a while on a beautiful day.

They have excellent ice cream cones in Copenhagen. Just have one and head to Tivoli to see what's on tonight. The Tivoli Gardens is a relaxed amusement park with a lots of people just strolling around peacefully. Great place.
outila from Finland wrote about Copenhagen Zoo 4 years, 5 months ago
A very nice zoo with well fed and happy animals.
Also worth to see in winter time.
Bonus points for the extra good souvenier shop.
jegerhaavard from Norway wrote about Tivoli Gardens 3 years, 3 months ago
I understand that Jussi hates the Tivoli garden, but at the same time it can also be a nice place to hang out. Avoid beeing there around mid-day, and of course in July...
sebu from Finland wrote about The Little Mermaid 4 years, 10 months ago
It's just a little bronze statue with far too many tourists standing in each other picture, but still I think this is a must-see. It's just so famous you get this "been there" feeling when sitting next to it. Actually, as soon as you get 25 meters away, you can sit by the sea very relaxed and watch the masses.

Not too cheap but has a wifi. Americans would call the rooms small.
laurap from Finland wrote about Copenhagen 4 years, 9 months ago
Very small and uncomfortable rooms with no proper closets. Some ethnic decoration does not do much when you have to sleep like in a bunk bed. Flat screen tv's though... Where did this hotel get 4 stars???
I have marked it to a wrong place on the map, it should be near the Central Railway Station and Tivoli.

I thought of flying to Copenhagen with my bicycle and go around the island (e.g. Helsinor etc.). Are the bike routes in as good a condition as everyone keeps telling me? Don't want find myself with flat tire in the country side... :P
larsettrup replied 3 years, 9 months ago:
Hi Jim,
Yes - Most bicycle paths on Zealand (Denmark in general) are in good condition and you would not have any problems completing your tour. Alot of people ride their bikes during summertime, so you will find plenty of company along the way.

Great clean rooms, and modern decor, good breakfast, quite silent clientele. The location on "red lamps district" was quite ok, no troubles due to that.

Will be there 3 days in October? What to do? I do not really know the city.
juha replied 2 years, 8 months ago:
If it would've been summer I'd say go to Tivoli. Don't know if that's a good place at this time of the year. Not my favorite city but I didn't see the castle or the mermaid. They might be worth the trouble. :)
