About Karlovy Vary

The town looks nice but is full of old (no offence) German (no offence) tourists. Buy an expensive ceramic mug and have a taste of the mineral water from various springs along the main street. If you have a day, try one of the spas and enjoy the baths (nudity alert!). No pets allowed on the spring area.

On a day excursion from Prague we arrived to Carlsbad to see the luxury of a bohemian spa town. Now a totally touristy town, it was fun to imagine the history: How Beethoven or Goethe or some other celebrity had arrived to the town in a valley surrounded by foresty hills and, before taking a curative (and inspirational?) bath, checked in to one of the grand hotels by the main street. A beautiful town but I wouldn't spend more than couple hours there.
