We went to Alaska on a Royal Caribbean cruise in Sept 2007. The cruise and trip were fantastic. Amazing scenery and being that close to the glacier fields was totally awesome. Side trips on the cruise were pricey but try to do 1 or 2 while you are there. We also went on a whale watching trip in Juneau and it was great...We stopped at 3 places and they are interesting but again very commercial because of large amount of tourists. Also stopped at Skagway and Glacier Bay. We were very lucky to have perfect weather and got some awesome photos. Being the end of the season we did find some deals on souveniers....We would definitely go again...

Juneau, Alaska is by far one of the coolest places I've ever visited. The mountains literally rise directly out of the sea in such an intense manner that one cannot help but stand in awe of such incredible beauty. Hiking, fishing, walking on a glacier, whale watching, and eating some of the best salmon and halibut you've ever had are just a few of the amazing things to do there.

A great local restaurant. They only serve their eponymous food, a delectable dumpling. Five dollars will buy you one of the best meals in Juneau.
