Hämeenlinna is a nice compact town worth visiting during the summer's Wanaja Festival.

Get your engine running and head out for Ahvenisto, a race track about a 1 hour drive from Helsinki. It's fairly inexpensive (~20e or so) to drive there with your own car and lots of fun. Helmet is recommended though and a professional racing instructor to give you some hints on how to take the turns and to keep your insurance(!) still viable. You can even rent the whole track for a few hours with a couple of hundred euros.

Beautiful Park in Hämeenlinna, 1 h away from Helsinki and Tampere. The well groomed boardwalks, park areas and lakes offer excellent possibilities for you to do outdoor exercise or simply enjoy nature. How does a picnic on the bank of the Swan Lake sound? Or how about lunch on the water, or dinner in the Aulanko lookout tower with breathtaking views? Also nice place to have meetings, conferences etc.

Nice bike park with lifts open on weekends. Acceptable distance from Helsinki.

A good course with a variety of landscape features and plenty of room to use your best driver. The par-3 holes use a lot of imagination and of the rest of the holes, especially notable is the 17th, where the scenery is so beautiful I didn't care that I lost three balls there. An old-fashioned clubhouse serves delicious cakes and unhurried, countryside service.

The castle of Häme is situated in the city hämeenlinna and by the lake Vanajavesi. It has been made of red bricks while other castles in Finland have been made of grey bricks. It´s worth of visiting and it is said that there lives the ghost of the castle. You can also have a picnic at the park of the castle at a sunny day!

You can start your visit in Aulanko taking stairs to the observation tower which is 33 metres high and made of granite. From the top are beautiful views at the surrouding area. Then you can walk around the park and go to the swan pool where you can feed swans, ducks and other birds. You must see the ruins which a rich man had built them to his lover. They were made ruins!

This quite small, but very charming church is situated in the city of Hämeenlinna. The church dates back to 1600 century. There is external pulpit which is uniqueness. It was used to preach to people up to church hill. The church is worth of visiting.

This is a factory shop, so you find Iittala glass items here. In the same area you find other shops too, like Kultasuklaa which makes many kinds of chocolate. There are also handy craft shops, art gallerie, some jewellery. It´s worth of visiting and it´s situated about 20 kilometres away from Hämeenlinna.
