fodors.com

"St. Pauli's midsection -- the "genital-zone," as it's sometimes called -- is the Reeperbahn, a half-mile (.75 km) thoroughfare whose name literally translates as "rope street," referring to the massive amounts of hempen rope produced here during the 18th and 19th centuries for ships in Germany's biggest harbor."

A great town with lots to see, the shore strip packs some really nice restaurants with seafood specialities. In Reeperbahn you can satisfy all your needs, the further you go the more exotic they get.

I spent a day in Hamburg while road tripping towards France and I must say that the only thing that was good about the city was the cheap hotel. Otherwise I can't see any reasons to go back. I'd skip it if I'd take the same trip again and go somewhere else.

The Elbe waterfront is beautiful. Hamburg has so much to offer in terms of shopping and culture.

Supposed to be cool I guess and one of Hamburg's key sights but it really sucks. If you don't have anything better to do (which you might not because it's Hamburg) then sure walk along it. There are shops selling dildos and bars showing striptease shows. Wohoo. Could've been "fun" when I was a teen.

Great price to quality, the only problem was the wireless internet which didn't work but there was a computer in the lobby to compensate for that. Good rooms, good location, cheap price.
