Half Moon Bay, hot or not?
What is Half Moon Bay
Half Moon Bay is beautiful coastal city that can get quite foggy after 3PM, summer or winter. Near the San Francisco and the entire Bay Area of California, the Half Moon Bay Coastside is only an hour's drive from virtually anywhere in the Bay Area. You can enjoy a lovely sunset, tasty food and a nice drive, so check it out. Not suggested for tanning!

I really love going to drive down Highway one from San Franciso into Half Moon Bay. Great stops along the way for Clam Chowder and a glass of wine while looking at the lovely Pacific Coast. Do it!

Ocean Beach is pretty cold and not really for swimming, but if it's not cold there will be bonfires here at night.

A cool place especially if you get a table outside in the courtyard. Food is good too but nothing that special.
juha from Finland wrote about Twin Peaks 2 years, 7 months ago
If you want to get a nice view over SF go to Twin Peaks. Otherwise it's nothing special but the view is great.

Gorgeous hiking area with old growth redwoods that dwarf a person.
juha from Finland wrote about Big basin redwoods state park 2 years, 8 months ago
We went hiking here for a day with a friend. This was a very beautiful place with extremely tall trees. Not very good for hiking though, but nice for seeing the trees and nature.

A lighthouse with a nice view. Stop if you're passing by but don't go over your head to get here.

We stopped here to watch the huge waves unrelentlesly break into the big rocks on the shore. An awesome sight! Well worth the stop. Watch out for the slippery rocks!

Just an hour's drive south of SF is one of the redwood parks. A truly awesome place with huge trees and good hiking possibilities. Definitely good for a day trip.
juha from Finland wrote about Bean Hollow State Beach Viewpoint 10 months, 3 weeks ago
A really cool spot to stop and go see the ocean pounding to the rocks on the shore. Something you don't see every day even if we have lots of sea and lakes in Finland. Definitely worth a short break on your way to the south. Take video and photos!
juha from Finland wrote about Pigeon Point Light 10 months, 3 weeks ago
An old lighthouse that was taken out of use. A pretty beautiful scenery but that's it. Not really worth stopping by unless you have excess time.
juha from Finland wrote about Twin Peaks 10 months, 3 weeks ago
The highest peak in SF offering great views over the city. Very touristy but definitely something you got to do once.
juha from Finland wrote about Foreign Cinema Restaurant 10 months, 3 weeks ago
The food is not that great (it's good but it's not the reason to make the visit) but otherwise it's a pretty cool restaurant. You can sit outside and watch "foreign" films. Mostly European i.e. non-Hollywood films that is.
