About Grado

Forget Bibione, Lignano and even Venice! Grado is a small city that has it all. Very convenient town with waterways, boats, numerous large beaches (which have way less sunworshippers than those in Bibione). Or, if you are driving by to Trieste or Venice, stop in Grado for a gelato. Just be prepared that you want to stay here.

This was the first time we have stayed at the Hotel Meuble Moreri, although we have been to Grado many times. On arrival we were very warmly greeted, and this characterised our stay here. The rooms were clean and of good size, and the hotel is located in a quiet area not far from the main 'action'. We will certainly be going back to this hotel on the next visit.

It's a sun worshipping hell! The 8 km beach has nearly 100.000 umbrellas and as many tourists under them during the daytime. You have to walk pretty far to get rid of the people and find a peaceful place. Or even better, rent a vehicle and flee to Grado. Way more classier town! You won't get far with English in Bibione. Feels a bit degrading, but high school German proved to be the right way of communicating.

A really small field. Don't count on buying souveniers from the airport. There are no shops!
