Cesenatico is a port town of about 20,000 people on the Adriatic coast of Italy. It is located in province of Forlì-Cesena in the region of Emilia-Romagna, about 30 km south of Ravenna on the coast of the Adriatic Sea. Cesenatico's port was designed by Leonardo da Vinci. . You should really see Fellini's "Amarcord" (which is the word for "I remember" in the Riminese/Romagnolo dialect) before you go there. Fellini grew up in Rimini and has tried to capture the main points in the city like the market by Castel Sismondo, the Grand Hotel, Ponte Tiberio, the monuments made by the Malatesta-family, and of course the main square in front of the City Hall, and the old markets hall.
In addition to all this Rimini is full of Roman monuments and also has a big monument in memory of the very popular Franciscan-friar Antonio di Padova, that preached so well in Rimini that even the fish listened to him.
Rimini was also part Mussolini’s project of making the people “happy” by sending them on a vacation that everybody could afford, and therefore started the very important tourism industry that Rimini is known for today. He also built the new modern train system so it could be possible for everybody to get there. The beach is within walking distance from the train station. Hitler copied Mussolini’s project in Northern Germany. Mussolini was very interested in Roman history and admired and copied many of the things that the Romans did. Rimini was, after all, the city that Caesar entered after crossing the river Rubicone (it does not exist longer) and then making a serious threat against the Roman senate.
The city was bombed during World War II including the Roman Theatre. It is estimated that more than 60% of the city was destroyed.
Food: You have to eat fish in Rimini – try one of the many good fish restaurants by the beach.

i have visited Rimini a few days ago and have been very good to the sea, the people are friendly and eats very well, to find a good hotel, I was helped by a website which is called Informa Hotel, I found an extensive list of hotels and I found a very good and economical.

Antico borgo marinaro, oggi moderna città turistica insignita per due anni della Bandiera Blu, Bellaria Igea Marina rimane a dimensione d'uomo.
Da maggio a settembre il sole ne fa risplendere i colori.
La posizione strategica, al centro della Riviera Adriatica, consente di raggiungere in tempi brevi città d'arte di fama mondiale come Ravenna, Venezia, Firenze.
Rimini, antica città romana e odierna capitale del divertimento è a pochi minuti.
La bellissima spiaggia, il verde dei parchi, le strutture sportive, gli eventi culturali e gli spettacoli, lo shopping nelle isole pedonali, i cocktail-bar e i ristoranti, le moderne strutture alberghiere, rendono piacevole la vacanza e la vita cittadina.
La qualità della genuina gastronomia e l'ospitalità degli abitanti stupiranno anche voi...!

Unique view of the sea.
Hotel Gambrinus Resort in Bellaria Igea Marina, with its ten floors tall and is one of the three tallest structures on the Adriatic coast, only after the third skyscraper in Rimini and the skyscraper in Cesenatico.
