About Capri

A beautiful island off the coast of Italy, very nice views from the cliffs and some extremely nice restaurants. The island is home for lots of jetsetters during the high season, with lots of life. A lot of high class designer clothes shops in the center to serve the rich and the needy in their quest to be fashionable. Be sure to check out the blue cave, although the locals charge you a whopping 10e for the entrance and a short look around the cave..

Sorrento is one of the best summer vacation destinations I've been to. Warm weather, oftern sunny, excellent views from the cliffs to the mediterranean sea. The food is good and there are lots restaurants in the city. A bit touristic though, but you can always rent a boat and get away of it all.

The town in it self is small and has not much to do, but it is located conveniently close to Sorrento and is an excellent place to stay if you want a little privacy. Views to the island of Capri are breath taking.

A very nice hotel off the coast of Massa Lubrense. Seawater pool and balconies, breath taking views to the island of Capri. Service is good and the hotel has a courtesy bus that drives guests to nearby city Sorrento.

Be sure to go straight in Massa Lubrense, when you see the sign that looks like it says Delfino is to the left, it's not. The sign is a bit 'Italian' and not very clear.. :) We ended up driving around for an extra 45min. or so, but eventually got there.

Pompeii is easily approached by train from Sorrento and Napoli. The train station is right at the door of the area. If you like history and wandering around ancient ruins, this place is a goldmine. The area is quite big and there is a good amount of things to see, expect to spend at least a couple of hours there. You can get a leaflet that explains what each building was, which opens up the ancient Roman life a bit more. There are also audio guides available for cost. The ruins of Amphitheatre and some of the other buildings are quite well preserved and you can almost hear the people of ancient Pompeii chatting and watching the show, really amazing.

They say that the current period of inactivity of Mt. Vesuvius is the longest in 500 years and that the risk of a large eruption grows as the inactivity period gets longer..

From the cliffs of Massa Lubrense you can admire both Capri Island and the Vesuvius. Breathtaking views and sea...
