What is Cape Town
Cape Town is the second largest city in South Africa and is the capital of the Western Cape Province, as well as being the legislative capital of South Africa (the Houses of Parliament are here). It is located in the south-west corner of the country near the Cape of Good Hope, and is the most southern city in Africa. It is a stone's throw from South Africa's world-famous Cape Winelands around Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek.

Well worth spending half a day here - visit Nelson Mandelas cell and try to imagine what it was like. Remember - this was a recially segregated country up until 1994!

Fantastic Belgian food right on the V&A waterfront. I love the bisque and they have an amazing selection of local wine's and belgian beers. I was in Cape Town for a month and I think I ate here for lunch over 7 times

A nice hotel with friendly staff, but warm water wasn't plentiful.

You better wear warm clothes. Wind can be cold.

Wonderful view, as can be expected, as this is at an elevation. Was there in early 1980's, but I guess natural wonders don't change that much over time.

Great location: next to Waterfront, but still extremely peaceful & safe.
