Although Alanya is "a paradise of mass-tourism", there are lots of places where you can see local people and local habits. I remember those huge breads in a restaurants and some local drinks, which make it an experience! And of course those people. I can recommend to travel there, when it's off-season.

In my tip of Alanya I mentioned huge breads, like pita breads, which waitresses always brought us for appetizers. And there were also some kind of tasteful "butter" and it tasted SOOO good! If you are travelling to Turkey, try those...although I think that no one can overtake those, because those are given you everywhere, in every restaurant.
