The best time of the year is June. We actually swam in the ocean and it was warmer than San Francisco. A good place to buy China. Don't miss going to Victoria.

A truly lovely place. With so much great Asian food it's impossible to get bored.

Beautiful, bike-friendly city. We went to a cool wave pool filled with heated salt water. Great, clean city.

A beautiful city with a laid back athmosphere. I was told I was lucky to have sunny weather during my visit in February. It was funny to see how the first warm and sunny day of spring brings out people with riding motorcycles and bikes, skating on the sea wall, etc.

Come here with the SeaBus from downtown Vancouver for a great view on the skyline of Vancouver. If you feel sporty, you might consider walking back, over Lions Gate bridge (with lots of opportunities to catch a bus whenever running out of motivation/energy).

A local brewery that makes good ales and lagers. Daily tours also available.

This is a great place to come for a walk by the sea. In the evening, the Lions Gate bridge makes for a nice photo opportunity. The path along the shore is also suitable for a bicycle ride, if you happen to have one available.

Metrotown has it all. Shoppingcentre which covers a few cityblocks, and is accessible directly with skytrain.

The band was The Streels. The food was hot, crispy, most excellent fish & chips. And the drink…? Guinness. Which is, they say, good for you. The room was banged up pub at it’s most sincere: The Atlantic Trap & Gill.

This is a very special small shop selling exclusively men's clothing. The owner is a strong personality. She's a stylist and if she likes you, she will make you look great. Otherwise, you might find that you are not wanted in the store. With a humble attitude, you might get free fashion advice and great clothes on top of that.

The park has a great biking or walking route around and through it, with great scenery over the water. Great for a picnic, too.

SFU is the "FBI headquarters" you used to see in X-Files. A good sight for a X-Fan.

A very nice plase to visit when the weather is good. Nice places to enjoy fish'n'chips or and ice cream. The area was also used in the X-Files as an amish village - that should tell you something about the scenery...

Conveniently located hotel in Van downtown. The hotel fitness room was good. Free wifi at the lobby, not in the rooms.

The main shopping street in downtown Van. Lots of tourists here - the shopkeeper's first question is aptly 'Were are you from?'. The shops vary from sushi restaurants to brand clothes shops. Robson is a fun street to walk and see people strolling. The people have no horry or worry. :-) I saw a girl who was curving down the street on a long board, popped in a cafè, and then hopped on board again with a latte in her hand. Hmm... I gotta get a long board for myself.

It's good to walk all the way to west as there's the great Stanley Park.

A huge park by the Vancouver downtown. On a sunny day full of people strolling the paths or roller skating on the beautiful sea wall road around the park. I went there walking and realised only later that I definitely should have rented a pair of skates or a bike at one of the nearby rental shops on Gilford Street. It's worth taking a path through the sequoia tree forests as well in addition to the sea wall route.

The Totem Park has a small collection of native ... totems. Not worth a specific trip but nice to see when wandering around Stanley Park.

The public service sea bus goes from Vancouver to North Vancouver across the Burrard Inlet. The bus provides great views to both Van and North Van and costs only $2.50CAD one way. Lot of locals use the bus so it's definitely not one of those only-for-tourists attractions. Early night there are lot of people with snowboards or skis coming back from a day ski at one of the nearby mountains.

The main sight is a creaky bridge over a steep creek. The sight has developed to a full fledged nature site with lots of activities. I guess this is mainly for families nowadays. The admission fee is $30CAD and I'd say it means that you'll have to spend quite some time at the spot to see all there's to see.

We drove from Canada to USA and crossed the border at Douglas. The sign estimated a 50 minutes wait but in the end we had to stay in the queue for 1.5 hours. It would have been better to take the lane going via Duty Free as cars from that lane were directed much further in the queue. The officer told us that this was a rather long delay considering that it was just a regural Saturday on February. In the summer months the delay may go up to three hours...
